God is Faithful

Hola family and friends! First off our support information has changed.  Please see at the bottom of the blog for our new support info :)
God is doing some awesome things here in Mexico.  Thank you to all who support this ministry in prayer, we couldn't do without you!  We have started a women's Calvary House and have 2 women with open hearts ready to be discipled and live for Jesus.  Angelica and I are discipling the women and Jeff is helping us oversee it.  We have started a women's bible study with them as well as some other women from the church and are excited to see what the Lord has in store as we all grow and learn more about our Savior.  Also,  Jeff's cousin Adam who is here for a couple of months got saved this past week.  He has been learning, reading, and searching but finally surrendered his life to God.  He had a long talk with another guy in the Calvary House and said he was ready to give his heart to Jesus!  So awesome to see disciples making disciples.  God is faithful and we can't wait to see all that the Lord has for Adam!

Jeff was blessed to be able to go to Tennessee for a mens retreat with Pastor John Ramseur and some of the guys from Calvary Fort Lauderdale.  It was an awesome time for Jeff to be refreshed and renewed.  He was able to hear some great teachings from Jon Courson and visit Calvary Chapel Chattanooga. What a blessing!

One other major praise report!!  Jeff taught 2 full sermons in Spanish!!!  He was a little hesitant at first, but he put his faith in God (prepared and studied of course)  and he did a great job!He also did his first baby dedication in Tizimin as well.  We are so proud of him.  God is good, and we are reminded again of his faithfulness and how he uses people like us to do great things.

Jeff and I are still planning and preparing to move to Tizimin next summer.  The church has moved to a new location and we are starting to prepare to build a new church.  We would love for you to partner with us, as we start the process of planting a church there.  First off we ask for your prayers.  Second, we will be needing to put down the concrete as well as a floor for the children's ministry, and chairs.  If you would like to contribute with the help of the new church you can send donations to Shepherd's Staff and write Tizimin next to the account number.   We are excited about this new adventure and can't wait to see what the Lord will do.

As for us, we are doing good. I did hurt my back very badly and I can't walk or barely move. It is hard for me because of Asher, but I am thankful for my husband and our church family here. Jeff has been so good to me and I know God is in control and His mercies are new every morning. I am trusting in Him and resting in His presence. I went to the Dr. and I need to get an MRI done, so please pray it is nothing serious and that I will heal quickly. On a good note,  Asher took his first steps and is walking!  We are proud parents!  We love watching him grow and learn new things. We are very thankful for the Lord's goodness and we pray that you all know and experience the love of Christ! Until next time....

Goodbye Summer...Hello School

Hi everyone.  We hope you had a great summer.  We were pretty busy over the summer break.  We have one more week of teacher training and then school starts August 29th.  I will be teaching 7th and 8th grade English this year as well as theater and dance.  Please keep this in your prayers as I take on some new roles and responsibilities.  I am really excited to see what God has in store this school year.  Jeff will still oversee all the facilities of the church and school as well as Calvary House.  We are also putting together an evangelism team to go to Progresso and outreach to the community there.

We started the summer out with a trip down to Guatemala.  As most of you know Jeff took the Calvary House guys there on a mission trip and helped build a skate park.  Over the past couple of months, some ministry changes had occurred and they needed some help.  So, Lalo from the Calvary House is now in Guatemala as a missionary serving and helping at the skate park.  We were able to go and see all that the Lord is doing there.  We had the awesome opportunity to go to an orphanage as well.  There are about 30 kids and they go to a Christian school and also have home visits with the people at the church.  They loved Asher!! He was soooo excited around them!  Lalo will be there for a couple of months, so please keep him in your prayers.  We are so proud of him and the work he is doing for the Lord.

Jeff's cousin Adam from Las Vegas is here until December.  He is in the Calvary House and is getting discipleship and "spiritual training" before he goes into the army next February.  Please keep him in your prayers as well.  Kristi has moved back to Florida and we so miss her.  She is going to start college and pray about possibly coming back sometime.  We will see where the Lord leads her as her heart is to follow Him and serve Him!! So please be praying for Kristi too :)

Jeff had a mission team from Calvary Chapel Houston come a couple of weeks ago.  They visited the other church plants and did lots of outreach and evangelism.  They were able to talk to some prostitutes and 2 of them gave their lives to Jesus.  We are hoping and praying for them that they decide to truly follow Jesus and change their lives.

I was able to go to Florida this summer for a couple of weeks.  It was very nice to spend time with Asher and my family.  Thank you to everyone!  You made our trip so blessed and we are so thankful to have such great family, friends, and church.

We have a lot of new adventures coming up, but we know God is leading and directing our every step.  We also know His yoke is easy and His burden is light!  We are just so thankful to be able to serve our King and humbled that He uses people like us to do His work.  Thank you Jesus for saving us and never leaving our side :)

Love you all,

Summer Time

Hi everyone,

As summer has started for most of you already, we still have 2 weeks left of school. I can't believe another school year has come and gone.  We plan to spend time here in Merida over the summer.  We have Latishia visiting us from Florida for the summer and Kristi will be staying here as well.  Kristi and Latishia both go back to Florida on August 8th, so please pray for safe travels and that they will keep Mexico and their memories close to their hearts.  Kristi plans to go back to Florida for a while, start online classes, and pray about coming back to Mexico in January.  Please keep Kristi in prayer as she seeks God for wisdom and direction in this next chapter of her life.

Jeff and the Calvary House guys are back and had a fruitful time on their trip to Guatemala.  They teamed up with the missionaries there as well as Christian Skaters from different parts of the US.  They built a skate park all in one week's time.  One of the guys also was baptized in a river down in Guatemala.  The C House guys worked together as a team and  Lalo shared the gospel at the big outreach event.  The outreach was a great success and about 15 kids gave their lives to Christ!  Thank you all so much for your prayers. God is doing a great work down in Guatemala and we pray this skate park will continue to be a blessing and glorify God!

Before Jeff left to Guatemala he had an opportunity to share his testimony at a public high school here in Merida.  There was a presentation on addictions and religion.  There was a panel of experts: doctors, psychiatrist, etc. Jeff was able to share about his experiences and present the gospel.  It was so awesome to have God open the door for this opportunity.

And as for us as a family, we are enjoying being parents and watching our little boy grow up.  He is such a blessing to our life.  We hope to spend some quality time this summer and prepare for the next school year.  I plan on teaching 6th grade English again and may also teach dance!!!  I am really excited about that :)  Jeff will continue with maintenance and Calvary House as well as spanish lessons and teaching in Tizimin.

I have been reading a book called Lineage of Grace.  It is about 5 unlikely women who changed eternity (Tamar a woman of hope, Rahab a woman of faith, Ruth a woman of love, Bathsheba a woman of unlimited grace, and Mary a woman of obedience)and have truly experienced God's grace and goodness.  It has really humbled me to see how faithful these women were and God's blessings upon their life and how he used unlikely people in the lineage of Jesus Christ.  Jeff and I are so blessed to serve here in Mexico and live in His grace every day.  To think he chose 2 people like us to do his work is truly GRACE!  Even when we come home and find scorpions in our bed or take a walk and almost step on a tarantula we know God is protecting us and guiding every step of the way :)

Thank you to everyone for your prayers and support.  We pray you all have a fruitful and safe summer.

With all our love,

The Stones
